Estee Perchik Sery
Meet the Author


Estee Perchik Sery was born and raised in Israel, and moved to South Africa after her mandatory military service. While raising her children she attended UNISA (University of South Africa), where she studied Psychology and Sociology. She taught Bible studies to high schoolers and beginning Hebrew to elementary school students.
In 1993, Estee moved with her family to California and continued teaching. She was appointed as a teachers' mentor and worked with 38 Hebrew Language teachers nationally.
Once retired, Estee was able to devote more time to reading, writing, painting and spending quality time with her grandsons. She joined several writing groups in San Diego and Del Mar and published her first romance novel, ‘The Scent of Heat’ in 2018.
Estee spent years researching her next novel. She traveled to Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, and read a dozen non-fiction testimonies of people who participated in the Kindertransport. Her historical novel ‘The Rusted Tea Box’ was published in 2025.
Estee continues to write, paint and enjoy the San Diego sunshine with her friends. She cherishes time spent with her children and grandchildren, and is currently busy writing her third novel.
